East Ravendale C of E Primary School

Making memories

News

Please see below the exciting things we have done here at East Ravendale during 2023-2024!

Sports Day 2024

We had a fantastic day celebrating Sports Day on our school field; parents, grandparents and ex-pupils joined us for an afternoon in the sun cheering on each other in all the traditional school sports day races.

As is tradition, our Year 6 pupils thoroughly enjoyed the water balloon race, and afterwards ran the gauntlet of parents and children armed with their own water balloon to soak the children (and Mr Brown!)

Vikings team ended the day as victorious winners!

Well done to all involved.

Leavers Service 2024

We held our Year 6 leavers' service in St Martin's Church, led by Reverend Rachel. The children all received their gift of a Bible and passed on the burgundy sweaters to their Year 5 friends who will be taking on the mantle of Year 6 leaders and role models from September.

We said goodbye to our Chair of Governors, Nigel Bishop, who has supported the school for the last 7 years. Nigel reflected on how 'East Ravendale School gets under your skin and pierces your heart' and we couldn't agree more.

As our Year 6 leavers signed the church registry we feel excited for their next chapter and pleased that they will remain part of the Ravendale community for years to come.

Lyfta Live - Cultural Diversity Day

Pupils in KS1 and KS2 took part in a live session with Lyfta; the children joined with over 50 schools!

They learned about a family from Belgium who are travelling circus performers. Foxes class got five shout outs throughout the session and even went live to share their thoughts.
A special well done to Bella for being brave enough to answer questions live and share her stories of performing!

International Mathematics Day 2024

We invited parents and grandparents in to school to join their children for maths activities, problem solving and games.

World Book Day 2024

Christmas Disco!

Children from across the school enjoyed a fantastic Christmas Disco. 100% Entertainment came to school to provide music, fun and games which was thoroughly enjoyed by children young and old!

A huge thank you to the Friends of School for this super treat.

KS1 Baking Club

Pupils in KS1 enjoyed baking club in the Autumn term; over three weeks the children made cupcakes, shortbread and chocolate chip cookies. The children weighed out their ingredients, mixed them and baked them - before taking them home to enjoy!
