Week 1: Our learning was focussed around the story, The Hungry Caterpillar. We also had an exciting delivery from Rand Farm and we learnt how to take care of eggs whilst they are in the incubator and when they hatch. On Thursday, we were visited by Shereen, from Grimsby Central Mosque. We really enjoyed our whole school worship and our workshop where we learnt more about the Islamic Faith and the celebration of Eid. 

Week 62 (The Odd Egg): We have had such an exciting week learning about animals that lay eggs. We learnt new facts, and we sorted animals to show which animals do and do not lay eggs. We looked at different eggs that had been laid by birds, and created detailed sketches. Whilst we were exploring our outdoor environment, one of our children discovered an empty eggshell. We used our detective skills to find out that it was an egg that was laid by a pigeon. We ended our week by completing the schoolɿs marathon challenge. The older children helped us to complete the race. 

Week 63: We have had an exciting week learning about frogs using the book, Growing Frogs. We explored frog habitats and learnt lots of frog facts. Mrs Gallant made pretend frog spawn that we enjoyed exploring and getting messy with! On Tuesday, we learnt about the process of candling to see if there were any chicks in our eggs. We were excited to see that there were, so we put them back safely to keep them warm ready for hatching, next week. 

Week 162: Our learning has been focussed around the book, Twist and Hop the Mini Beast Bop. We have had fun exploring minibeasts, and their habitats and finding all the places that they like to live. We moved our potato plants and we saw so many underneath. Alongside this, we have welcomed 6 new members to our class. They are called Dark Knight, Rosie, Linda, Nee Nee, Sparkles and Sunshine. They are our 6 chicks who arrived on Tuesday and Wednesday. The children have loved observing them and making runs for them to play in.
