  • Our Church School

At East Ravendale, we strive to develop independent, self-motivated and inquisitive learners of all ages. We celebrate our uniqueness and value all as God’s children. We aim to give all members of our community opportunities to succeed, now and in the future, knowing they are safe and valued.

Our vision is underpinned by our core values of wonder, belief and joy.

“I can do all things through God who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

Our vision is symbolised by the bee.  Bees beautifully reflect the message of Philippians 4:13: although they are small, God enables them to do extraordinary things.  In the same way, we too can achieve amazing things — not through our own strength, but through the strength Christ gives us.

Bees Do Extraordinary Things Despite Their Size

Bees are tiny, fragile creatures — yet they accomplish incredible tasks:

    • They pollinate one-third of the world’s food.

    • They build perfectly engineered hives.

    • They produce honey, a natural wonder.

Like the verse teaches, great strength and impact don’t come from our size or ability, but from the One who empowers us.  Bees remind us that God can use anyone, no matter how small, to accomplish big purposes.

    Bees Work Together in Harmony

A hive thrives because every bee has a job:

    • Workers

    • Nurses

    • Guards

    • Foragers

    • The Queen

They depend on each other for strength and survival.

Just as bees rely on the hive, we rely on Christ. Our strength isn’t solitary — it’s supported, sustained, and provided by God.

    Bees Persevere Through Hard Work

For a single teaspoon of honey, bees travel thousands of miles and visit hundreds of flowers.

Their perseverance mirrors the verse’s message:

With Christ giving us strength, we keep going — even when we face challenge.

Bees Bring Life Wherever They Go

Bees  don’t just gather nectar — they spread life, growth, and fruitfulness through pollination.

With Christ strengthening us,  we bring life, encouragement and growth into the world.

Honey as a Symbol of God’s Goodness

Honey in the Bible often symbolises:

    • Blessing

    • Provision

    • Goodness

Christ strengthens us not just to endure but to produce something sweet — like kindness, wonder and joy.
